i've done a bunch of new drawings for my blog!!!!!!!

also, i'm trying to look for galleries in London to try and exhibit my work, its s-O nerve wracking even asking the galleries to look at your stuffs let alone if they actualy wanted to exhibit them. i keep getting plauged with thoughts too like "are they good enough?????" "am i technically ready????????????" but i guess you'll never know till you tryyyy

⋆ illustration blog ⋆ & new drawings ✄ ✄ ✄

I have been doing plenty of drawings to post on my tumblr over the past two months to fill the empty blog with more content! I'm INCREDIBLY excited at the attention the blog is getting even though its not a lot! compared to most (probably all) illustrator blogs on tumblr mine is miniscule and the most notes I've had so far on an illustration is 300+, I'm aware that is practically nothing but it means a lot to me! The blog has only been running for 4 months and i have only posted 40 illustrations yet people seem to be enjoying them and it's inspiring me to create more and more!!!

○ ○ ○ water ・colours ♡

i'm trying to mix up the materials i'm using for illustrations as i've been getting bored of cell shading and ink drawings, so i decided to pick up my dusty water colours and give them a go ♡

i've been loving soft pastel art much more than bold line art recently, so i've been doing line art in pencil with slight shading, and using just a tiny bit of water to bleed the pencil yet adding water colour if its needed!

  

HYPER JAPAN 2013

I went to hyper japan 2013!! We weren't even going to go but we got tickets literally the day before.

We got to the venue at opening time, 9:30am, and there was no que whatsoever so we waltzed right in, staff was incredibly friendly too!

We went straight over to the Nintendo booth as me and my friend are huge Nintendo fans to take photos in the "re-created" Animal Crossing New Leaf village, which was only a few cardboard stands but it was still really pretty! there was plenty of cardboard stands for photo ops and even a full-size town tree!

They had a New Leaf photo booth too with real life tools to pose with! it was so awkward as they chucked us in there squeezed us together and it was all over within like 5 seconds so the pictures came out horrific and we look a mess omfg

Nintendo also had some games up for playing, and i hadn't tried Pikmin 3 yet so i gave it a go.

After that, we went to go and see Yun*Chi perform! 

She performed a few songs including Shake you*. She is soooooo cute and looked like a doll! after that she was doing photos and meet-and-greet so we went over to have photo with her. She looked even cuter close up i felt disgusting omg!!

We did plenty of shopping too as there was an incredibly amount of pop-up booths and shops there! sadly, i didn't take many photos of the booths which i regret, some of them were really beautiful! As well as "Kawaii" culture booths like an Angelic Pretty pop-up store and hand made accessories  there were a lot of traditional Japanese food, clothing and activity booths. I spent a lot of time at the Kyary/HKTV/ASOBISYSTEM booth trying to figure out what i wanted as there was a lot of choice. They we're selling KPP world tour merch along with albums and singles, Harajuku Kawaii TV t-shirts, badges and mini-magazines, and plenty of clothes featuring Namaiki SPINNS clothes and bags designed by CHOCOMOO! i was COMPLETELY lost at what i wanted to buy, but ended up getting a KPP world tour elephant pouch for my 3ds!

I also got a some mameshi-pamyu pamyu stuff too which I've been lusting over since promotions of it began, so i got the iPhone case, phone charm and a tiny Unico plush.

STRAWBERRY SWITCHBLADE

The boredom of summer means listening to music a lot more then i usually would. STRAWBERRY SWITCHBLADE have pretty much been my musicians of choice this summer, and i'm really feeling their music right now. They are brilliant song writers and somehow their music/lyrics make me feel really nostalgic! Also, Rose's voice is incredibly sweet, like candy.

LITTLE RIVER is such a cute track. when i think of 80s bubblegum pop its exactly what comes to mind! the lyrics and vocals in little river really show what i like best in strawberry switchblade.

I'm also really into their fashion. Ever since i started listening to SS i've been subconciously sometimes wearing 3 different polkadots at once. Incredibly gothy but so cute at the same time!
